Within a week's time in the camp, kids will not only learn the fundamentals of the Mandarin Chinese language, basic vocabulary and various daily expressions, they will also explore some interesting Chinese folktales like the famous legends of Monkey King, popular songs, the game of "go" or "suanpan" -- also known as Chinese abacus, an ancient yet still popular and
in-use calculator in today's Chinese society. The camp's outside-classroom activities will initiate kids to discover the joys of playing the shuttlecok and Chinese yoyo as alternatives to play with their buddies for some recreational time after they go back to school.
More than leading kids to the calligraphy brushing and Chinese history, the afternoon activities also include the appreciation of classical Chinese dance, music, martial arts and acrobatics.
Our camp's activities are specially designed for kids from age 8 to 14 for an entertaining and enriching break between academic semesters. We truly hope that, by welcoming your kid(s) at the Happy Monkey King Summer Camp, we will be able to offer both you and your kids a happy summer that transforms itself into pleasant, lifetime memories.
